The S-Works Tarmac SL8 is the fastest race bike in the world thanks to a combination of aerodynamics, lightweight, and ride quality previously thought impossible. The S-Works Tarmac SL8 LTD: Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe Edition is an exact replica of the bike the team will race at the 2024 Tour de France. Only 500 individually numbered bikes will ever be made. Aerodynamics are optimized throughout the design, with the leading edge prioritized for maximum advantage. The new nose cone, called the Speed Sniffer, is created by moving the steer tube back to allow a much sharper, lower drag head tube shape. The Tarmac SL8 features the narrowest, most aerodynamic seat post ever made, ensuring clean airflow around the legs. The frame weighs just 685 grams—15% lighter than the Tarmac SL7 and lighter than anything else on the World Tour. The design was informed by learnings from the Aethos, allowing the frame to be easily built at UCI minimum weight with a full aero setup. The frame's shape carries load so efficiently that extra carbon stiffness layers become redundant. The Tarmac SL8 delivers a 33% improvement in stiffness-to-weight over the SL7, with legendary handling and World Championship-proven geometry. The bike is stiffer at the pedals and more precise at the bars, while providing a compliant ride in the saddle that sets a new benchmark for race bike comfort. Thanks to Rider-First Engineering, every rider regardless of size gets the same ride quality and handling. The bike delivers 6% more compliance in the saddle, floating over rough roads with a supple feel. Geometry and 32mm tire clearance are identical to the SL7, ensuring easy adaptation and versatility to run higher volume tires. This edition is equipped with a full SRAM RED AXS groupset—the lightest electronic group in the world—complete with a power meter. The Roval Rapide CLX II Team tubeless-ready wheelset and Roval Rapide cockpit complement the frame, while S-Works Power Saddle with Mirror and ultra-fast race day Turbo Cotton tires complete the build.
