New Years Road Bike Resolution

resolution no text
One of the best pieces of advice that I have ever read for making a change after the new year is to make plans, not resolutions.

Resolutions tend to be vague ideas that we wish would happen in the new year. They can be things like be healthy, make more money, ride more. Some of us will even go as far as putting something specific condition on it to make sure that we know when we have been successful. For example, lose 30 pounds by summer to look good on the beach. It’s not that any of these things are bad, they just tend to be hopes and dreams and we all know that as a society, we are pretty bad at following through with these resolutions.

Plans, on the other hand, are things that we are going to do. Saying, “I’m going to travel more in 2015” is a resolution. Buying a plan ticket and booking the hotels is a plan. The latter is almost guaranteed to happen while the first will most likely be forgotten and once the next new year ticks by become the resolution for 2016.

With that in mind, we’ve create a plan to help you be successful in riding more in 2015.

Step 1.

Come into the store and with the help of one of our trained sales staff, find the road bike that is perfect for you. One that fits your budget, your riding style and body. Buy the bike. And knowing that this time of the year can be a bit tight financially after the holidays, we are offering our Play Now, Pay Later 18 month financing. So you can get the bike now and not pay for it until six months after next Christmas.

Step 2.

The great thing about cycling is you can start at any fitness level. So regardless of where you are, just start pedaling. Ride the bike as often and as far as you can. We’re positive it will put a smile on your face.

Step 3.

As part of the purchase, we are going to include a few riding plans for the next few months.

  1. Mesquite Madness will be your first organized ride. We’ll pay for your entrance fee, all you have to do is show up and ride. Seeing that this ride is early in the season, we will include the 35 mile Citizen Category. This will get you pedaling and show you what it’s like to ride in groups in an organized event.
  2. The Spring Tour de St. George will be next. We will be giving you an entrance into the Metric Century. At 65 miles, this is a great ride that will challenge you. At this point, you will have ridden enough to get the base miles and we’re confident you will breeze right through.
  3. To finish it off, we are going to plan your first Century Ride. You will receive an entry into the Ride the Gap. At 100 miles, it is a goal that many cyclists shoot for and you will feel a sense of accomplishment when you cross that finish line.

Step 4.

Just keep on pedaling.

This promotion ends on February 16th
