Bracken\'s Loop is a horse trail that starts from Grapevine and loops out and around the red rocks and sand above Church Rocks. There are many sandy ridges that must be maneuvered to make your way around this loop which means lots of pushing, even with fat tires. It is a spectacular area but make sure to give yourself plenty of time for the ride.

Getting there...

From St. George, head North on I-15 and take the Washington Parkway Exit #13. Turn left onto Washington Parkway and head toward the red rock. The road will make a 90 degree turn and head back toward St. George. On your right you will see a dirt parking lot with a road heading into the red rocks, park here.

Riding the trail...

Head up the dirt and sandy two track. Follow this road to the Prospector junction and bypass the junction and continue straight. You will next see the Dyno Cliffs turn on your left, continue on the dirt road. You will continue to climb and on your right will come upon a sign marking the beginning of Bracken's Loop. From here follow the trail as it drops down into the wash. It will climb up and over several times. The trail is well used by equestrians and shouldn't be too hard to follow. It will end on the ridge above Prospector. Follow the trail until it Tees into Prospector and go right. This will take you back to Grapevine and back to your car.
