More Cow Bell is a beginner loop that leaves from the JEM Trailhead and stays on top of the mesa following the rim. It is not technical nor does it require much physical ability, but it pays big in views and smiles.
From St. George head north on I-15. Take the Hurricane Exit #16. Follow Highway 9 into Hurricane. Turn right on Main Street and then left on 100 South/Highway 59. Follow Highway 59 as it climbs up the mesa. It will climb toward the JEM trailhead. As you enter the passing lane, stay in the left lane and turn right at the sign. Follow the dirt road a short distance to the trailhead.
Riding the trail...
From the trailhead head toward the fence and ride over the rollover. On the other side go left. Follow the single track as it winds around the mesa. At the first junction stay right, going left will take you the less fun direction on the loop or can be used to drop off the mesa on Dead Ringer. Continue on single track as it parallels the rim giving you beautiful views of the surrounding area. The next junction you will stay left, going right will connect you to the JEM. Continue on as the trail takes you out to the point and begins to wrap back around toward the trailhead. The last junction you will stay straight, going right will drop you off of Dead Ringer and to the JEM below the drop.
This loop and its connectors allow for many different options. Including a figure 8 using the JEM. It was designed to be a beginner trail and gives novice riders an excellent option for loops and views.
This trail is clay, we ask that you not ride it if it is wet. If you are sinking into the dirt, you are damaging the trail.
Also note that it is not currently signed. Signs should be installed this spring.
